Learning Through Play
Play-based learning is based on the idea that children learn best when they are actively involved and having fun. It allows children to explore, experiment, and discover the world around them in a safe and enjoyable environment. Through play, children can develop various skills, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, communication, social interaction, and physical abilities. They engage in hands-on experiences, make their own choices, and take ownership of their learning. Play-based learning encourages intrinsic motivation, curiosity, and a love for learning, which are crucial for lifelong learning and development.
Infant Play Experiences
Play provides infants with opportunities to engage their senses and develop their motor skills. Activities like reaching for toys, grasping objects, crawling, and eventually walking help infants refine their coordination, balance, and fine motor skills.
Junior Chefs In Action
Simple cookery activity provides an opportunity to teach children about nutritious food choices and the importance of a balanced diet. They can learn to prepare and appreciate fresh ingredients, understand portion sizes, and make healthier food choices.
COVID 19 Activities
In light of the recent COVID19 outbreak, teachers planned meaningful learning experiences for young children. Children were introduced to various jingles and songs about germs and handwashing. They also learnt about the importance of practising good personal hygiene through proper handwashing technique. This also lead them to learning about how to make their very own Do-It-Yourself (DIY) hand sanitizer. The older children from Kindergarten One and Two class were involved in a series of class discussions to discuss what and how COVID 19 affects their lives in Singapore and to many others around the world. The purpose of this discussion aims to strengthen their understanding about what they can do to prevent the virus from spreading and be aware about the current issues around the world as news reports about COVID 19 has been on the rise lately.

Cloud Activity
At Carpe Diem, we believe in developing the eight innate intelligences of our little legends. Our teachers brought our little ones outdoors to observe the changes in clouds. They also recorded their learnings through a series of paintings.
Outdoor Art Activities
Art gives children an opportunity to express themselves creatively. Painting encourages thought into the choice of colour, patterns and designs. Dipping a brush into colourful paint begins your child’s journey towards a finished masterpiece, where process matters more than the end results!
Morning Exercises
We believe that it’s important to start the day on a good note. A good stretch is essential in boosting the moods of little ones. After all, yoga enhances flexibility, coordination and strength. It also improves their concentration, calmness and relaxation!
Parachute Activity
Parachute activities channel children’s energy in creative ways. By working together, kids learn about cooperative play and communication along with taking turns and learning to follow instructions. Repetitive motion and songs also help with developing a sense of rhythm, which in turn can boost cognitive processes.
Junior Chef
Cooking teaches practical and essential life skills to kids as it involves reading, following directions, and measuring. Getting involved in cooking helps your child to develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and even early concepts of math and science!
